Dominant Strategies
The ability to select strategies that provide a greater payoff than any other strategy, no matter what the other agents do. I.e., strategies that are a best response to all possible strategies.
Taco Loco and El Fuego are the only two food trucks serving the downtown business district at lunchtime. Each can charge either price low or price high per taco plate. The number of plates each sells per day depends on both prices. If both charge price high, Taco Loco sells a hh plates and El Fuego sells b hh. If Taco Loco charges price high and El Fuego charges price low, Taco Loco sells a hl and El Fuego sells b hl. If Taco Loco charges price low and El Fuego charges price high, Taco Loco sells a lh and El Fuego sells b lh. If both charge price low, Taco Loco sells a ll and El Fuego sells b ll. Costs are negligible, so each one's profit is its price times the number of plates it sells, and each wants to maximise its own profit. What is the dominant strategy for Taco Loco?
