Average Cost
Deriving a firm's short-run average cost function from its production function, wage and fixed cost.
As the finance manager of a political campaign, my fixed costs for office rental and supplies are f cost. The success of our campaign activities is determined by the number of volunteer hours and the amount of capital we have, described by p function. Our campaign's capital is set at capital. If the cost of utilizing volunteer hours is c function, what is the average cost of our campaign's operations? Take Q as the output given by the production function, L as its variable input and K as fixed at capital; the variable cost is $wage per unit of L (c function in total) and the fixed cost is f cost. Give the average cost C(Q)/Q, with the coefficient and the exponent rounded to two decimal places.
